Where does the Ghibli name come from?

Founded on June 15, 1985, by the directors Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata and producer  Toshio Suzuki, after acquiring Topcraft's assets. The studio has also collaborated with video game studios on the visual development of several games.

Studio Ghibli, is a Japanese animation studio based in Tokyo. It has a strong presence in the animation industry and has expanded its portfolio to include various media formats, such as short fils, commercials, and two television series. Their work has been well-received by audiences and recognized with many awards. Their mascot and most recognizable symbol, the character Totoro from the 1988 film My Neighbor Totoro, is a giant spirit inspired by raccoons, dogs and cats. Among of the many studio's highest-grossing films are:

NAME-----------------------

The name "Ghibli" was chosen by Miyazaki from the Italian noun ghibli, an Italianization of the Libyan Arabic name for a hot desert wind and a nickname of the Italian Caproni Ca.309 aircraft. The name was chosen by Miyazaki due to his passion for aircraft which he got from the influnce of his father Katsuji Miyazaki (his father is also the influencer of the 1992 film Porco Rosso) and also for the idea that the studio would "blow a new wind through the anime industry".

  MAIN CONCEPTS OF THE FILMS------------ The directors of Studio Ghibli likes to put storys or situations inspired from their own lives such as; damages done by fire or atomic bombs, a child with sick parents, orphan kids, war... These aspects can be gathered to general themes: ENVIRONMENTALISM Nausicaa of the Valley of the wind (1984) Studio Ghibli films spotlight environmentalism, emphasizing, respecting and preserving the natural world. Almost in every Studio Ghibli film there is a natural place that is seen as the characters peaceful and safe place. For example in Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (1984) rest of the characters want to destroy the forest so they can build life from the begining with no monsters (they live in the forest ther are sort of like big bugs) but the main character Nausicaa believes that the people and the monsters can live in peace together and she stands up for what she believes in and succeeds.  MY TOP 3 GHIBLI FILMS-------------------------- - 1. PONYO Ponyo is about a little goldfish who turns into a real girl after drinking human blood. Ponyo is also one of my favorite films of all time. I think i might have watched this movie like 5 times. The storyline is so fun to watch. Seeing Ponyo grow up and decide to be her own person is truly inspireng to me and besides the storyline the animation is also mesmerising. My favorite part of the movie is when Ponyo and Saskue goes to find Saskue's mother Lisa. Ponyo uses her magical powers to make Saskues toy boat bigger they but a candle in to use it as fuel and set sail. While their sailing we see that the whole town is under water and all the animals are so cute i love them soo much. When Ponyo sees the problem she has caused she does get a little underwhelmed so her magic wares off but they still mange to find Lisa. I also think that Ponyo is such a great main character she is so silly and i sometimes see myself in her thats o...
